Now that is cool. Hoping to have a similar setup next month when the card comes out. I already have duals running so all I have to get is one more monitor. I wonder how much that triple screen costs? Do you know?

Yeah, that goes without saying. I thought it might that triple monitor that opens up and is connected together already. I thought someone pointed to that in a link in some thread here a week or so ago. Looked very expensive.

I'll take it it's the video that's shot at a low framerate and not the actual game itself? I'm curious how fast this thing will run games like SOF2 in 1600x1200x32 across 3 screens...

Yeah! BADASS!

Now I want StarCraft or Age of Empires designed to span over 3 monitors. :D

First off I think the concept of surround gaming is great (esp for flight simulators).

However I question for how long after the Perhelia release will surround gaming be an option with current releases... Sure UT2003 should run smooth (its already been demoed)... but this will obviously not be the case with future releases.

So for how many months after buying the Perhelia will you actually be able to play using Surround Gaming with then current releases... you sure as hell won't be playing DOOM III with Surround Gaming. So plunking down over $400 so you could play with 3 monitors for maybe 6-8 months doesn't seem reasonable. Hopefully Matrox's introduction of this option will force other manufacturers to intro this option for their value line cards.

Is it just me, or do the two side monitors not look as clean/sharp as the center monitor?

Gog, yer statement is logical, but it's been made to an illogical crowd. With brand new vid cards it's all about bragging rights and which card has the most features. Even though by the time those features are actually used in games it will be a generation or two later in the video card time line and a new vid card will be "wowing" everyone. "Hardcore" gamers don't care how their new card will work 6-8 months from now 'cause 6-8 months from now they'll have a new vid card.

Hehe thats pretty cool. Is that actually showing anymore of the game then what you normally see? It looks like it is because that would give you an extra advantage in the game if you could see to the side of you while looking forwards.

You see more of the game than you would normally. And yes I don't care because in 6 months I'll get whatever is on top at the moment as long as the 2-D is the best I can get. The reason I want a Parhelia is because of the 2-D quality, which is now the most important thing to me. The surround gaming is just a small plus that really doesn't mean that much to me as time goes on but is just a novelty item that is kind of cool when I am bored and do some Jedi or Unreal II when it comes out.

You hit the nail on the head. I want what's slickest and fastest right then. If nVidia one ups them 6 months later I'm there. Cost isn't a big deal really, at least for me because this is how it has been:

GF 256 SDR $70 (going for 120+ at the time), sold for $35
GF2 GTS $120 (the Staples deal, were going for like $160 at the time), sold for $80
GF2 Ultra $105 (going $200 at the time), sold for $120
GF3 Ti200 $99 (BestBuy thing), sold for $120
GF4 Ti4400 $299 (ACK I PAID MSRP! Day it came out :() Pricematched with my Amex Blue at $240, so $60 back. Can probably get ~$120 or so for it when it comes time to upgrade. So I'm out very little with each upgrade (and in some cases make money! Thanks Hot Deals!). Worth it to me because I spend all my time reading forums and playing games.
