Most people know that the Santa Cruz sound card is known as Videologic Sonic Fury in Europe, anyway Videologic have two newer models out called

SonicXplosion DVD (Dolby 5.1/DTS/Dolby Pro Logic II )

SonicXplosion (standard version).

Btw no reviews yet,but I`ll keep my eyes open 😉.

It'll be interesting to how much of an improvement this is over the original the Santa Cruz/Sonic Fury. Right now I'm really disappointed at the paper specs 'cause I don't see ANY for the gamer. It's still using the same, dated sound chip (CS4630). The only difference is the inclusion of the optical outs (about time, since lesser Cirrus Logic cards like the Fortissimo II has had it for years) and improvements to the wave table synthesizer. No 24/96 either. I'm sure the music/audiophiles are somewhat happy, but after three years of waiting since the original SC, I was hoping to see something a little more substantial than just a suped up Santa Cruz.

I can see your point but with a sound card made for gaming there`s not much you can really improve, sure you can make it support all the popular standards like EAX etc like at the moment and improve the cpu usage during gaming and maybe improve sound quality but after that where can you really go?

Even at the moment , we don`t really need 6.1,7.1 sound for gaming.
