videoconferencing through a router with uPnP?

Has anyone here had any experience with a uPnP (Universal Plug and Play) enabled router to allow Windows Messenger's videoconferencing and file transfer capabilities to take place between two LANs? or a LAN and a computer directly connected to the internet?

I would like to know how viable this type of solution would be, and what I need to watch out for. I want to make sure that this is the right thing to do before I make the decision to jump in with both feet.

I have messed with this a few times. My experience was that it worked, but it didin't work as well as it should. It was a major network bog down thing too when I flipped it on. I had a bunch of people calling me saying "why is the network so slow?" Granted my network doesn't have the badwidth to the net that it should (penny pinching boss) but I imagine with a good fast T3 at both ends it works like a dream.

bump for the weekend...

ok, I am having a lot of difficulty in locating routers that support this technology. I can find lots of places to read about them... and read about buying them... but no place to actually get them. Could someone please recommend a uPnP router to me that i can find... maybe a link or something?... anything?
