Next question is when are the new higher count Phase VRM motherboards going to be out ? like the MSI ? and I hope ASRock has one.

I'm curious though.. My OC'd TR1950x on Asrock's mobo can hit 250W consumption when slammed and the board handles it just fine. Is this bump in higher count VRMs for OC'ng for the new flagship processors? What kind of power utilization are you guys gunning for on the CPU ? 350W? 400W?

Well, if I go crazy on my 1950x@4.1 it takes somewhere around 400 watts. Normal OC is about 250@3.9. So I want 600-700 watt capable motherboard IN CASE I need that much. 8+3 VRMs won't cut it. 16+3 might. So I really want ASRock to come out with at least a 16+3 VRM motherboard.

In reality I probably won't OC it past 500 watts. I just like "padding" as in extra capacity so as not to stress the motherboard. Debating on TR4 Enermax or custom water cooling.. Due to time constraints, might do the Enermax, and work on building the custom loop.

I just priced out build one (Enermax cooling) and it will be $5000. But thats 970pro NVME 1 tb, 8 3600 ddr4 sticks, 1080ti and Taichi motherboard.

But still worried about have enough power for this beast. I want the bigger VRM motherboards.

As they also have a 12 core version, it does look that I was wrong and they do indeed have 2 dies not connected to memory at all.

If the prices and clocks are correct though, it looks like insane value. About 55$ per core regardless of model.
