No MSRP is given, not that it matters.

One thing notable is that the article mentions that there's an "up to" qualifier for the 8 GB of memory. So there might be 4 GB models released at some point.

-encourages the crowd- Burn the witch! Burn the witch! KILL THEM ALL!
-desperately hopes nobody in the crown remembers Larry is not the only miner-

-Everyone's heard of "The squeaky wheel gets the grease" but has anyone ever heard its foil "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down"?

I think its interesting that it beats even at 1440P the 1080, 2060, Vega 64 and 5600XT and somehow we expect it to cost less than $500. Ha.

If you can get at $329 it's a buy. In our current environment.

Can you all imagine if we could easily buy used 1080s, Vega 64s, 2060 and 5600XTs easily for less than like $180? Ha, how great would that be?!?

I really thought we'd be seeing ~$120 2060 cards about now when I was forecasting a couple years ago.

Empty desires, or maybe if you can find lower price on Klingon. :grinning:

German retailer Mindfactory today sold 350 pieces, and it is still in stock.

I guess. I wasn't even the "loudest" proponent of mining on these forums. Just when angry hateful gamers said that my method of earning a little income on the side should be outright banned, because they were too entitled and lazy to actually put in the effort to get a GPU, given the current market.

How many of them have sold GPUs to gamers for the cost of shipping? They shouldn't complain that I'm hoarding "all the GPUs", if they've never been willing to do that.

The loudest crypto proponents here were the guys day trading bulk BTC like a decade or so here in the VGA sub. They don't even need to bother posting here any more ;)

They had enough coin that it would have been trivial for them to keep a cold wallet with 100 to 1000 btc on it for a HODL fund if they wanted to.

(As near as I can tell.)

Going to call a few friends, see if they need an upgrade, for MSRP + small "finder's fee".

How does the RX 6600 stack up against, say, a GTX 1660 Super/Ti?

I also got selected. Do you all think the Sapphire version is worth getting at $429? I was hoping for a cheaper version and not the most expensive card.
Hmm, sensing a pattern here...

Edit: Good of AMD and Sapphire to have stock of these new cards.

But I wonder how many of the MSRP ($329) cards, versus the expensive ($429 Sapphire Pulse) were actually available @ Newegg.

Also, the various 6600XT cards are mostly around $625-650 BIN on ebay.

- Guess it just goes to show how stuck-in-time my and likely other folk's perception of GPU prices are. Picked up my HD7950 post OG mining crash for roughly that much and that might have permanently thrown off my perception of what these things are worth, especially given how rarely I upgrade (normally three years between cards, but my 980Ti is going on six at this point).

If I hold on to cards twice as long, maybe I should consider paying twice as much...

or maybe not WHERE ARE THE PITCHFORKS LETS GO GET LARRY :p

December 2013, I paid $150 for a Sapphire 7870 2GB card. Probably the best price/perf deal I've ever gotten. Though R9 290s with free games was pretty good too at $260.

As expected, Steve from Gamers Nexus totally badmouthed the MSRP of this card:

It's basically identical in performance to a GeForce 3060 or GeForce 2060 Super. MSRP is in the same range as those cards as well.

Of course, MSRP in this market doesn't matter. If you're somehow able to get one of these, it will probably cost you over $400.

It was $470 with tax and s&h for the Sapphire Pulse model. I don't know if I'll use it to replace my R9 Fury or sell it.

My mb also doesn't have pci express 4.0 and I'm not sure how much it's going to hurt me in the future.

Didn't he trash the 3060 too? I didn't watch this video but Techpowerup has the 3060 at 10% faster than the 6600 at 1440p.

Yeah there were some great deals on Hawaii cards. Fiji too.

"Gaming power draw of just 120 W is extremely impressive, especially considering the performance offered. The RX 6600 is the most energy-efficient graphics card we ever tested. "

They OCed the RAM to 2300, that's got to make the Sapphire Pulse model more desirable for mining.

Hmm fair point, I was wondering how the memory would OC, given it is lower clocked at stock compared to the XT model.

I hate myself for watching reviews for entertainment value. The vast majority of them are hot garbage. Same old alternate timeline MSRP propaganda being used, to produce negative content that garners more views.

-The power efficiency thing is just another incredible underdog story for AMD. It's nuts how quickly they've made up ground on so many fronts against some truly heavyweight competitors.

Techpowerup also tested the slowest/base clock power color card. Other AIBs are substantially faster out of the box, so it's unsurprising that TPU ended up roughly 10% behind the 3060.
