No MSRP is given, not that it matters.

One thing notable is that the article mentions that there's an "up to" qualifier for the 8 GB of memory. So there might be 4 GB models released at some point.

Please no. 4GB 6600 should be a crime. Its even worse than 4GB 3050 and 3050Ti. Hopefully they do 8 and 16GB models.

8GB should be fine, but I think 4GB would be too little for this card.

4 GB would suck for anyone trying to run more modern titles, but the hidden blessing is that you need more RAM to mine ETH so the 4 GB cards shouldn't see quite as much of a price spike.

For anyone still playing older titles at 1080p it would probably be sufficient to offer a relatively cheap option, but I have a feeling it still won't be as cheap as it should be.

But 1650 super is also 4gb card, rx 570 is also 4gb but that hasn't made any difference. They are all 3 times more expensive than msrp

Are those still being manufactured and sold new or is it just people trying to cash in on the high prices? I can see stores bumping prices on those because they think they'll sell as opposed to having to cut prices for old stock that normally won't move.

There will still be some price gouging just because the rest of the market ends up getting pushed down to this tier of cards and driving up demand, but miners shouldn't be getting them unless there's something that's close to as profitable as ETH that doesn't need 4GB+ to mine. Then that sets the price floor for those cards. I just don't know enough about what else is out there to say definitively.

Review at Computerbase.de :

Appears to trade blows with 3060 with a 120W power limit. Solidly ahead of the 5700 it seems @1080p. Not a great card at 1440p, but given that seemed to be on the cusp of the 6600XT's abilities, not really a surprise.

If it was $200 and widely available in a world that we don't live in, I think we'd be happy with it.

Now if we can buy it for $350 reliably that would be about the same value I think.

So, $500 after markups? Ha. It's faster than the 2060S that regularly brings more than that, it seems.

Seems really efficient, at least.

Meh, it's about 2060 Super, but lacking DLSS and RT performance. In fact RT performance even in AMD RT games is pretty terrible, where as a 2060 super is strong. Performance also falls off a cliff if you go to 1440p. No point spending that much on a card with that many bottlenecks, you'd be better off saving a few more $ and buying something better.

Generally I agree with you. It sucks that its more like "a few hundred more $" but yeah. A 3060ti/6700xt seems like a much more satisfying solution.

This is a 1080p card all the way - and that really is a popular resolution.

This looks like a fundamentally a good card for 1080p. It's low power and quiet, but delivers decent performance. Price is the problem as usual.

only way to this card is by going to some dank alley (bestbuys line), knowing some secret handshake to the man in the tent (the person next to you camping in line), while having 3 days worth of food and water (need to share your stuff so people don't crucify you if you need to step out for a quick moment to go pee) so you don't lose your line.

Oh newegg shuffle today had a few of these cards on shuffle without added junk.

Would have been an alright 1080p card for $179, I'm actually more impressed than I thought I would be with the Ray-Tracing results: Some games are truly unplayable with single FPS performance, other games run *OK but not great* around 30-45FPS with RT on, and other games (Doom Eternal) still perform incredibly well with RT enabled.

At this performance tier, RT is really more of a curiosity that introduces people to the idea of the feature (i.e. Buy a better card if you want your game to look like this and actually be playable) than something that you'd expect people to actually be running at reasonable framerates but AMD manages here even without all the DLSS bells and whistles.

In the slim chance I get a shuffle win what is this card worth and how much would it be worth if I sold it on ebay? Do they sell for the price the shuffle shows ($329-$429) or will they be marked up?

I would prefer a 3060ti, 67000xt or 3070 but they are silly expensive right now.

How dare thee (think about / use) these cards for gaming and not mining....
You filthy gamer...

On a serious note tho... in today's market, as long as it can plug into a monitor, has more then 6GB of vram, consider yourself lucky if the card is priced under 400 dollars. Again the msrp for a 1660 Super is still close to 500 dollars + just because it can mine more efficiently then most cards.

Intel also said they would not hash rate limit their new cards.
Which means, they want a piece of the pie in the mining craze buy.
Also means RIP on prices, and RIP on availability.

I think its interesting that it beats even at 1440P the 1080, 2060, Vega 64 and 5600XT and somehow we expect it to cost less than $500. Ha.

If you can get at $329 it's a buy. In our current environment.

Can you all imagine if we could easily buy used 1080s, Vega 64s, 2060 and 5600XTs easily for less than like $180? Ha, how great would that be?!?

I really thought we'd be seeing ~$120 2060 cards about now when I was forecasting a couple years ago.

No way it would have been $179 even without mining. It would have replaced 5600xt at $249. That's its natural price point. So AMD is pocketing an extra $79 due to mining.

- Guess it just goes to show how stuck-in-time my and likely other folk's perception of GPU prices are. Picked up my HD7950 post OG mining crash for roughly that much and that might have permanently thrown off my perception of what these things are worth, especially given how rarely I upgrade (normally three years between cards, but my 980Ti is going on six at this point).

If I hold on to cards twice as long, maybe I should consider paying twice as much...

or maybe not WHERE ARE THE PITCHFORKS LETS GO GET LARRY :p
