NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-780-TI-3Dmark11.png

According to this data the GTX 780 Ti would be faster than both cards by few percents in 3DMark 11 (Extreme Preset):

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 TI: X5204 (100%)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN: X4924 (94,6%)
  • AMD Radeon R9 290X: X4664 (89,6%)
The leaker also revealed that is sample is equipped with 6GB memory

So you are probably wondering how many CUDA cores does GTX 780 Ti have. The rumor has it that we are looking at 2688 cores. Of course 2496 is also possible, but it’s just a speculation. And if you are also wondering why I didn’t post that GPU-z screenshot from Chinese forums, it’s because it was fake.

Thats 17% better graphic score.

Yay the return of a 1k card.

Read the source before spewing out stupid stuff like that.

This is a Titan running on higher clocks, for $649. Videocardz report it.
So did other sites 5 days ago.

If you look at the specs, the memory is now running at 1.7GHz giving it better memory bandwidth than 290X.

This means that Titan is official eol.

Infraction issued for inflammatory language.

AMD better get those aftermarket 290's out fast! Thats said, I don't know how those 3d mark scores translate into real world gaming performance. The big game this year is BF4, so whoever reigns king over that game will have the hot seller this holiday season.

If AIB's release a cooler, quieter, OC'd 290x for around $580 and Nvidia follows with a 780 price drop (and a 780ti with 3 free games for $649), then the consumer wins! Competition is great!

So Titan is beaten by the 290X in actual gaming while losing in this bench. How is a 6% improvement over the Titan a game changer since it would basically tie with the 290X in actual gaming?

I'm halfway through 3DMark right now, I'm at the second boss. Love this game.

Should be a sweet card, but man $650 is a lot for a GPU (from my perspective). Even $550 for the 290X is out of my price range unfortunately. $300 to $400 is what I like to spend.

Titan and the 290X are already tied.

Impressive. This cards beats Nvidia on EVERY level! Price, performance, features, power..... every level. Nvidia paid the price for gouging it's customers, they are going to lose a ton of marketshare. I doubt they have anything to match this for at least a year."

LOL!

Alrighty, so let me get this straight. This 780ti is faster than Titan, has the same amount of VRAM - 6GB of GDDR5, and costs 650$. This sounds legit?

I don't know. LOL. We'll see.

When it goes on sale for the 650 being quoted. Let me know.

How soon we forget this is nvidia here, if they can ask for a premium they will.

Yup.

lol, I thought about it and decided against engaging.

Way juicier is chimaxi83's comment in the main review thread

Some angry individuals on this forums, name calling and attack left and right.

So you post a comment without reading with an angry thumbs down, get called out for not reading, and then claim other people on this forum are angry...stomping your feet on the way out.

Sounds legit.

The leaker also revealed that is sample is equipped with 6GB memory, we are probably looking at GeForce GTX TITAN refresh with faster clocks. From the information I received it looks like GeForce GTX 780 Ti will consume more power than TITAN, since power section has been redesigned and manufacturers were notified about this change.

Since we're on the topic of "reading comprehension", this was pretty lol-worthy to me. 650$ and 6GB of GDDR5. This is the most hilarious thing ever at 650$. And by that I mean, it's either not true or will cost substantially more with 6GB.

17% higher clocks and 17% bigger memory bandwidth than Titan.

I`d say its bigger than 6% in games.

Looking at Titan and 290X, its a whole different ballgame temperature and noise wise. Titan runs cool and quiet. 290X is hot and noisy.

You don`t have to be an expert to understand that 290X is designed to run hot when GTX 680 vs 7970GHz was 295mm vs 365mm and GTX 780 Ti vs 290X is 550mm vs 438mm. AMD packed so much transistors on that little die. After all, its still 28nm. Nothing have shrunk. No wonder why it run so hot. GTX 780 Ti have much bigger surface area to remove that heat.

If it has 6GB of VRAM it will not cost $650, it will cost more. Since this supposed leaker claims it has 6GB and is the 780ti, I call BS. Also there is no reason to put a black square over the name of the video card to obscure the 780ti moniker in 3Dmark, unless it's a fake and the faker knows a photoshop would get recognized.

In short. A BS article to get pagehits.

I think 780ti will be faster than Titan for sure so long as they don't do 2496 shaders. But not with 6GB VRAM for $650... lol. This is nvidia. $200 premium just for 3GB more VRAM or it wouldn't be nvidia. :)

290X at $549 proabably puts them in a position that makes that harder to do. Especially since 4K requires allot of memory bandwidth and things are trending in the direction of those higher resolution/multi-monitor set ups.

Had AMD chosen $599-$649...yeah. AMD was probably betting on the fact that Nvidia would continue to charge a premium rather than quit playing games with them and get more serious about price/performance of their top tier cards.

Only time will tell if that turns out to be true.

The king of which hill? If this is only 6% faster than the titan it has quite a qays to go to catch the 290x.

Since they are close at <1600p and the 290x starts wiping the floor at the higher resolutions. Of course to some 1080p will suddenly be the only resolution that matters once this card is released.

We found that the Radeon R9 290X was faster in every game compared to the GeForce GTX TITAN at 3840x2160. It wasn't just a little bit faster either, it was anywhere from 10-23% faster. This is a significant difference.

It's great the 290x has came out, otherwise NV wouldn't have bothered updating the titan/780.

What will be fun is to watch the aftermarket 290x vs. 780 ti reviews.
