Video signal stops

Hi all,

Yesturday out of the blue I launched world of warcraft and while I was logging in my screen went blank and my dell LCD monitor's power light was orange (indicating no signal) but my machine was still running.

I tried rebooting but nothing happened so I powered down and back up, tried wow again and same problem. I tried installing the newest forceware driver but that resulted in it doing it before it got into windows. As a result I had to go into safemode and revert back to my privous driver.

Now it will do it when I'm simply browsing the internet (but not if I leave it alone with nothing running).

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this? has my card finally had it? 🙁

My gfx card is a Leadtek WinFast 6800 LE and its coming up to its 3rd birthday. I'm running on winxp.

That would be my guess, also. But, take the side off your case, and turn the system on, to make sure the video card's fan is still working.

Checked the card's fan and it seems to be working fine. Is there a way I can test the PSU to see if thats the issue? Don't wanna spend 150+ on a decent gfx card and find out its my PSU =/

I do usually leave my PC running and since I've had this issue I've still left my machine running (with the monitor turned off) and it hasn't had any issues.
