HTPCs are nothing new. PC Video playback has been around way before the latest MCE craze. And also: FFDSHOW > AVIVO > PureVideo Presently for Video playback (quality wise). Maybe one day, someone in NVidia or ATI will wake and realize this and embed FFDSHOW potprocessing programability / acceleration in their GPUs.
