I know that LCD monitors are capable of their own scaling but mine seem to do a pretty poor job of scaling 640X480 resolution to 1280X1024 (when in 640X480 mode) for example and so I recently heard that I could have my video card do the scaling instead and so I'm wondering how I would go about doing this.

I'm not sure though if you guys are referring to Dscaler for video where you input 640X480 TV and want to watch it on your 1280X1024 monitor IN 1280X1024 mode.. I play games on my computer some times at 1024X768 and like I said, it isn't being scaled too well when I tell my monitor to scale the resolution so I was wondering how I'd go about doing this.

Maybe what I'm thinking of isn't really possible.. FYI I have a VGA connector only on my LCD.

It should be in the control panel for the video drivers under a display/monitor section. On NVIDIA cards, it's under screen resolutions and refresh rates->advanced timing.
