I am not insulting anyone, but to think just becasue you are in the service you are some godlike figure, he has a big does of reality coming.

And that IS from someone who was in uniform.

So where did you serve again? You keep claiming you did but never elaborate when I ask you to.

It strikes me as a little odd that "Sergeant Seavey" made Sergeant after what he says was only two years in the service. I gather he must have been a reservist or Guardsman before leaving college to go on active duty.

I was in the service for six years, until about a year ago. From what I observed, morale was definitely suffering somewhat among the Army and AF folks I knew, due to the relentless ops tempo, but in the main military members are inclined to do what they're told without spending a lot of time worried about the downside of their service.

I certainly wouldn't say "Sergeant Seavey" "nailed" Rep Murtha, whose service lasted several decades more than Seavey's. Seavey is entitled to his opinion, but IMO anyone who hasan't served has no right to impugn Rep Murtha's service in any way.

Nice double post stalker, Mind your own biz if you don't get the point yet that is not for me to speak of in here, respect that or don't.

I already stopped posting in this forum as much and deleted my profile becasue of vindictive trolls getting into my personal life in other areas of the net.

But yes I served in the forces discharged honorably and do have a few ribbons lying around in a box somewhere to show for it.

Unlike a number of infamous pro-imperialist wingnuts in here like you who speak of things they know nothing about.

i don't agree with the politics that sent them there, but the last thing anyone needs to do is tell the soldiers who are fighting that they are dying or losing limbs for nothing.
I don't agree with the assholes who lied about why they sent our troops to Iraq, and the last thing anyone needs to tell the soldiers who are fighting is more lies about why they're there.

Sooner or later, they're going to learn the truth. Do you think they'll feel any better about it because they didn't learn until later that they and their buddies are dead and wounded, and they were shipped into that hell for Bush's grand plans and Halliburton's war profiteering? :|

Do I support our troops? HELL, YES!

Do I believe we should lie to them? HELL, NO! :|

Trust me I'm mad as hell about it too. But I'm arguing with the liars that sent them there, not the soldiers themselves. Some of those kids joined thinking they would really be part of history, and that they would really be protecting us. It isn't their fault their new boss is a total a$$wipe. Those boys deserve our respect, even if their bosses deserve burned at the stake.

Do I believe we should lie to them? HELL, NO!

Remember that those who are/were actually there know more about what's going on there than those that haven't been there. So lying to someone who is there, and works there is rather a moot point. What sort of "truth" can an armchair citizen, general or president tell a ground troop that the troop will believe? What truth can anyone tell someone who already knows the truth?? All you can do at that point is get them home to their families. Crying because your candidate lost isn't about the troops. Trying do embarass their boss won't help the troops either. Telling your Senator ideas to stabilize Iraq just might, as does looking for constructive ways to train Iraqi troops to help stop the violence. Ignoring terrorist attacks in the news would help as well. When you pay attention to them and elevate them to "big newss", you become free advertisement for the next generation.

The troops already know the truth, and still support Bush overwhelmingly. Go figure? Part of this is that the Democrats and Independents have no viable options for them to follow, and the other is that their choice for candidates is seriously lackng from their point of view. Give them a viable choice and this too could change.

LOL. I can't believe you are willing to trust the word of a dirty politician over that of an American soldier, someone willing to put his life on the line for your worthless existence. I can tell SGT. Seavey is who he says he is. I can tell by his demeanor and the fact that I have been around American military personnel for most of my life. One thing you can bank on in this world is the word of an American soldier.

Like Duke Cunningham?

 You've never put on a uniform, have you? Murtha served for 37 years in the Marine Corps, and God knows he's earned his right to speak his mind on the war, every bit as much as someone who claims he's served for 2 (Seavey).

as a retired military man myself, i agree. in this regard, seavey disgraced himself and his uniform. if only he gave murtha his props before launching that diatribe of his, the message he was delivering might have seemed more sincere. as delivered, i can't help but think that seavey, if he was sincere, is regretting some aspects of what he did in that forum.

if i interpret his sentiments correctly, i agree with seavey that our troops need all the support they can get. however, to publicly humiliate murtha on the single point of troop morale while dismissing murtha's true intent and feelings for our troops is rather ignorant and self-serving on seavey's part.

as to why seavey really did it, only he knows.

I think that you are missing the biggest part of that.....THEY ARE NOT, BY REGULATION, ALLOWED TO COMPLAIN/CRITICIZE!!!

I would like to see a absentee ballot total for the last election to see what "overwhelming" actually looks like. I haven't been able to find one googling myself. Just the normal conspiracy theory reports.
