video rendering problems with games

The strangest problem just started up recently when i try to play Rise of nations and WC3:FT When i start the game the graphics are messed up, with WC there is a green tint everywhere, and with rise of nations the color scheme is all messed up. This just started happening out of the blue, and I have no idea what caused it. I even tried a format and reinstall of windows, but the problem is still there. I have an ATI radeon 8500 LE and everywhere else the video is just fine, including movies and regular windows surfing.

any comments or ideas would be appreciated

either the monitor or the v/c, my guess since it does not do it at teh desktop that it is the adapter that screws it up when it switches into 3d mode. swap your video card out and see what happens

Sounds like my vid card overheating problem. My cause is the fan on the vid card (ti4200) stopped working. Can you confirm the vid card fan is still spinning?
