OK, I play alot of Halo, mostly multiplayer.

I have a Nforce2 system with integrated grahpics, and I'm satisfied. Mainly because I don't know any better, I don't know anyone with a high end graphics card, so I've never really seen the difference between my virtually free graphics and a $400+ card.

From those of you in the know...what am I missing???

fairly recent AT bench

In terms of graphical quality, you're running in DX7 (since the onboard GF4MX on your system can't do DX8.1/9). With a newer card, it would look more like Halo on the XBox; you're missing some of the specular/bumpmapping effects, mostly.

In terms of performance, your card would be slower than the slowest one in that bench by at least 50%.

Just get 6600GT AGP as that should significantly improve visuals and performance and cost you $200 not $400. Once you have a faster card, enable 1600x1200 and max detail settings (something integrated cannot even dream of) and you'll see the difference. You'll notice more difference in prettier games like Far Cry, Doom 3 and Half Life 2 though.
