It's a Sapphire card, I wanted to RMA it, but their stupid web site says they aren't currently accepting any new RMA's until the current tickets are up to date.
When I play games, typically I get a dead screen, with my sound screeching, and it drops me back to my desktop with a GPU error box. I got the error twice when it was just me on my desktop with nothing going on. I also have gotten the "ATI driver has stopped responding" error. Obviously the card is FUBAR, but I'm trying to figure out if there is any trouble shooting I can do on my own. Possibly it's overheating and putting an aftermarket cooler on it might help things?
My system drivers are up to date, NF3 MB, without the SW IDE drivers installed. ATI drivers, I've tried 3, from latest, to the ones that came with the card. XP Pro was re-install clean a few months ago. I ran prime95 with no issues, and memtest also. What can I use to check the temps? I don't think it's an overheating thing, because I've gotten problems with it when I was just on the web. But, until I can get Sapphire to gimme an RMA, which might be awhile. I'd like to try to figure out something to do.
