I went to install video drivers off my cd and it gave me an error.. So I went to the nvidia site and downloaded/installed those drivers and it reads my video settings fine, so I installed DX 9.0c and was playing Guild Wars and I went to put AA up and other settings up and it said my drivers dont have that option and when I raise settings higher somtimes it freezes and breaks up etc.

I'm running:

AMD 64 3000+
512*2 PC2700 RAM
Windows 98 SE
6600GT 8x AGP

I recently formatted, HDD is new.. Both RAM sticks are fine, CPU is new and no signs of problems, motherboard is also new and works fine and my video card is new and never had any problems.
 
Sounds like a bad driver install to me.

It's said 98se can have problems with more than 768MB of ram, but w/b a diff type problem anyway I believe.

I'd redo chipset/mobo drivers and gfx card drivers. Usualy I run a few benchies (3D Mark 05, Aquamark) and DX diag before trying to play games after a new install, just to check stuff out.

You're running Win98 on an Athlon 64 with 1Gb? Why? Time to buy WinXP. I seriously doubt there's very good support for Win98 mobo drivers for Athlon 64 mobos.

Moreover 98 driver support in general is pretty piss poor right now. I'd use a 98 system for desktop work but not for playing modern games.

Also that's far more memory than 98 was ever designed to handle. 98 can have issues with more than 512 installed.
