Its kind of wierd. Ill just be playing and out of nowhere, the moniter loses signal. I have to restart, and when i try to play the game again, it takes less time to lose signal. But it never happens when im not in a game. Whats going on? Im running a 6600gt jic

Thanks

AGP or PCIE? are you missing any pins out of the D-SUB into the VGA connector? (are you missing any pins out of your monitor cable that connects to your 6600GT)

oh, we posted at the same time....disregard the PCIE or AGP question...

is the 6600GT overheating by any chance?

I came across something like this once. I'm no engineering expert so my guess is to do with the 3D core overheating. 2D functions are all that are used when you boot up your PC and in Windows. I'm sure the 1-2min period where the card is on and cooling itself helps enough to fire up a game again.

And it definitely is something overheating, 99% likely it's the video card. What are your ambient temps?

my CPU temp is 38 C, my mobo temp is 37 C, and my HD temp is 30 C, this is according to SpeedFan, and ASUSProbe (came with mobo). Any suggestions?

1of all those arent 100% accurate if you didnt no. 2nd you should i went with a 6800gt. two 6600gt is not bette than one 6800gt and two 6600gt are more expensive. if i were you i would take it back get a 6800gt than you have a good card and worth sli.

Ive had this issue, either by over heating or not enough power from the PSU, touch your heatsink on the game right when it resets itself. ANd also it cools down really fast on a reboot fans still blowing and the video card is nto really bring used to make it hot. I suggest trying another PSU and anotehr video card with the latest drivers. THen you can imit to what it is.
