I recently built my 1st pc: 2.4C Ghz Intel processor, MSI 865PE Neo2LS mobo, GEIL PC3200 512M memory, and GeForce Ti4200 video card.
I am having a lot of problems with my existing monitor (SONY VAIO CPD220VS). Here is a link to the specs of this monitor:

Screen has some areas that are fuzzy, discolored, and pc hangs so frequently...
I connected my older PC to this same monitor to see if the problem still persists (in which case it would mean the monitor), but this same monitor works just perfectly fine with the older pc.
So, I am thinking my monitor cant handle some particular frequency/refresh rate put out by the Ti4200 perhaps?
Anybody have any insights? I really dont want to have to buy another monitor right now....
