my friend built a computer a lil while ago and when you go to my music or just some folder and want to click, and hold to select everything they greyish box lags when going over things

he got a pretty cheap vid card so thats what i assume right off the bat

has any one else had problems like these?

the OS is also a pirated version of XP pro, could that be the prob?

Check for viruses and Spyware. Then do a defrag on his hard drive.

You might also wanna increase his ram from 256mb to 512MB as 512mb should be the standard now for most applications. I highly doubt it's his video card causing those symptoms.

i don't think its a virus, i gave him AVG along with ad-aware and spybot (all recently up to date)

i also have run trend micro and panda scan on it, but the defrag might help, thanks

i didn't really know if a bad or cheap vid card could cause those types of problems
