Ok, heres the deal. Whenever I try to play a video file on my TV(EXCEPT MPEG), which is hooked up to my computer via a S-Video plug, I can only see a black box(actually off black, since its R16B16G16). I know this has to do with the way Windows displays video, but is there anyway around this without a huge setback in performance??Is there a media player that can help, or anything that might change it?? I can't be the only one to have had this problem!

Thx!

Ok, I'm going to assume your card is an ATI card, coz I had the same problem with my 8500. Go to your ATI control panel and select the "Display" tab. When your s-video cable is plugged-in to your card, the TV tab should be active (as in not grayed out). At the bottom of both the TV tab and Monitor tab, there are 2 small blue buttons. For both tabs, the button on the right has on it what looks like 2 small windows, one overlaying the other. On the Monitor tab click on that blue button, on the TV tab click on the other button (has spirals, i think). You should now see the video on your TV but only a black box on your monitor.
