Video on an Ipod Nano?

So, I'm considering buying an Ipod Nano, but I like my podcasts and the occasional tv show, so how is the nano for video? Is the screen just too small?

Only you can decide. I just bought an iTouch for video and music. I looked at the Nano and the Classic and decided I wanted the biggest screen possible so went with the Touch.

I don't exactly know anyone that has video on, or even has the new Ipod, and I didn't see any videos at the store demo so I couldn't tell.

I got the new generation iPod Nano, and the videos, well, they're fine if you watch a music video or something but I don't think I'd watch any movies on it.

The screen on the new Nano is just too small to make watching video anything more than a parlor trick. If you are interested in viewing video, the iTouch is really the only iPod that makes even a passing attempt at making the experience worth while.

my friend has a 3G nano (fatty) and video is surprisingly watchable. I've never tried to watch a 2hr movie on it, but I could see maybe a TV show. Its really really crisp and bright. From the little I've played with a 4G nano, I expect the same.

The video on the 3G nano (4G is the same size btw) looks quite good. My daughter has the 3G and downloaded a music video. For my 49 year old eye's, which can actually focus without glasses at about 14-inches (which ain't bad for my age) I find the screen just too small.

I did buy the Ipod Touch, especially for the internet connectivity and the much bigger screen size makes me more likely to watch a movie - I just can't see watching much of anything on the nano for me. For teens who can hold the nano 8 inches from their face for a closer view, it might be ok for watching in the car or bus etc. The quality and picture are quite good actually, but just too friggin small for me. Even the Touch is near the limit for me and only a very portable option for maybe a plane trip or something.

Ok, I just tried the nano at the local best buy, and I was shocked when I saw that the screen isn't too small!

I think videos will be fine for it, I dunno why I even made this topic. I feel dumb now.

No worries. But I'm guessing if you feel the nano screen isn't too small, you are a good deal younger and can hold it closer to your eyes! 😛
