It sounds more like a tree branch snapping than a bone snap .. and I would think if his ankle had snapped he would have fallen out of the rope due to his newly deformed ankle.

That was bad but Krumrie's injury made me physically ill. Theisman's injury is a close second though. LT's reaction after he sees Theisman's injury is classic though.

Worst i think i saw was henrik larsons leg snapping when he caught his studs in the turf playing footy. the bone poked straight through the skin. the vid is on the web somewhere. slow mo with no sound thankfully!

Ohh hell ya ... those that saw that will NEVER forget it. I remember watching the slow mo (who thought THAT would be a good idea to reshow in slow-mo????) and seeing the bottom half of his leg, midway down from the knee ... as it swing from left to right while the rest of his leg was upright.

EWwwWwww ... heebie jeebies !!!! I saw Theismann's break also on live TV (MNF) .... I seem to have bad luck watching certain 'memorable' games.

lol i just watched it to the very end, and at the VERY end the guy in the boat is like "your leg is caught in it." ... OH REALLY?!?!? I DIDNT FVCKING NOTICE!!!

although it DOES sound like the tree snapping, both times, something has to be hurt in his ankle, or else he could have pulled himself upside down, putting all his weight on his ankle but he obviously can't cause something is wrong w/his ankle.

also, if you listen carefully, a third 'snap' sound is his head hitting the rocks heh.

A bone snapping would not make that loud of a sound, especially given the distance the cameraman was from the guy on the rope. The sound you heard is branches breaking.
