VIDEO of my Mame cabinet running!

So several years back I started a project to get myself my own MAME cabinet. those who don't know mame should google it. I looked in the classifieds and found myself an old nonworking cabinet and over the last 2 years or so it's mostly sat idle in our basement. I got it about 90% working 2 years back then kind of forgot about it. For one I didn't have a spare computer sitting around that was powerful enough to run it the way I wanted it. Well now I do and as of today I just finished the last bits of it. Well to be accurate I finished the last bits to get it up and running perfectly. Cosmetically there is still stuff to do. It's no where near the best looking Mame cabinet but it works!

If you guys have seen MAME cabs before don't expect this one to look as good as most. LOL. But the thing is it works and I'm very happy to have it up and fully running.

The quality IS NOT the best and the screen flickers cause it's not in sync with the camera but that's nothing new. Please excuse these issues. Also this is the first real video I've ever shot of, well, anything so please also excuse the rough quality.

Please watch this in full screen as the parts where I'm playing the games look too small otherwise.

OLD request:
I'm going to be making a video of it and it playing a few games. Request some games to see 😛 😀 Or not. I know this is mostly a brool story.

do you own the actual games that you plan on emulating? if not, then you are violating copyright laws. do not do this.

my wife and i just got our contract ratified on a house. if all goes well and we get it, i'm going to be moving my KI2 cabinet from the corner of my moms basement into our new home. right now it's still a jamma cabinet, but I plan on making it a MAME cabinet once we get our home. it's too big to fit into our 780sqft apartment lol, and probably too loud.

should be a fun project.

fuck i love mame. friend had it running on his projector setup. we had 4 people playing the side scrolling Ninja Turtles. it was truely epic.

That WOULD be epic. :hmm:

I kind of want to build one. A 4 player one with a fairly big screen. Once I get a house I think that needs to be done.

Aside from materials and cost of the computer, and time of course, it's not hard to do. There are versions of the IPac chip I show in my vid that support up to 50+ inputs, so 4 player caps are possible.

Mame is fantastic. throw it on a PC, hook it up to a TV, monitor or projector and you're in gaming bliss. It was even better at my friends place. short 10' distance on a 110" screen, having to turn you're head to follow the action... amazing.

Havent messed with my stuff in years, unfortunitely. Have my Mame, NeoGeo, SNES and NES stuff just laying around waiting on a drive. Just no time.

If you want it to look authentic it should be on an old school TV. Course then you can't have the EPIC 110" screen playing with friends but it will feel so much more nostalgic 😀 If you see my vid you will see that I'm using a good computer CRT which is not the best. I want to eventually replace that with a crappy old TV from some 2nd hand store.
