Video of Jackson 1984 Pepsi burn accident surfaces

wow that sucks... if i were in his situation, i woulda taken a lot of pain meds too. 2nd degree burns on the scalp/face?... ugh
very nice of him to have donated that money

weird how it looks like he was basically dancing through it (not realizing his hair was on fire) until he got completely surrounded

Weird - after watching that video, and how NOT severe the fire was, I wonder how much the extent of his injuries were exaggerated.

on the "micheal jacksons last days" tv thing doctor drew did explain that the pain medications that he was using were more like for putting people under...way beyond what most addicts use.

My wife explained that the hospital she works at refuses to have one of those particular medications because they feel it's too dangerous to work with.

seriously?
Do you realize how much product was in his hair. All chocked full of hot flammable alcohol.

Have you ever played the chicken game where you put rubbing alcohol on your hands and light it and see how long you can let it burn.

At first as the alcohol burns off, you don't feel anything. As soon as the protective layer is burned away it becomes white hot in an instant.

Imagine an alcohol gel melting and dripping down to your face and scalp. And second degree burns aren't really that hard to get and lots of them can do a lot of damage. Not to mention there are few places with more nerves than your face and everything very superficial and easy to go down to.

Yes he kept dancing.
Its called being totally focused on the performance.
And earning x million for the spot.
With all the explosions and effects going on, you
never expect something to go wrong. You rely on the
professionals doing their job.
Most people in that situation would have not realized
what was happening. What was the special effects, lighting, and
what was something that went wrong.
I imagine its not easy to perform to his caliber without total mind focus.

Wow that final shot of his exposed scalp.

I've had 2nd degree burns on my legs and it was terrible, on your face and head? That'd be unbearable.
