I wonder what distance the helicopter was at, I'm betting they were pretty near their max range. I heard one of the helicopters fire but someone saying "damn we're out of range"
 
i watched this some time ago on TV and there was a discussion about that gunner breaking the Geneva convention which forbids killing wounded men.

This is partially true. First off, I don't think they could engage the humans directly with the main gun on an Apache. It doesn't make any sense to me because we can engage troops with a Ma-deuce all day long. In any case, they could say they were aiming for the vehicles and the HE rounds just happened to kill the people nearby.
