Interesting to see the inside of a place where the insurgents manufacture these types of weapons.

 To the soldiers for finding this place and eliminating it, hopefully it puts a dent on their IED making capabilities.

What a shame the people using that house and making bombs there weren tied to the bombs they so loved to make and made to go boom boom.

Doubtful, seeing as four more US troops died Monday in roadside bomb attacks.

Putting a dent in their IED capabilities does not mean stopping 100% of all IED attacks. It would be unreasonable to assume shutting down 1 factory will stop all attacks. Maybe you disagree?

Your thought process escapes me. If I plug 1 hole in a leaky damn, I haven't accomplished anything because it's still leaking through other holes?

For JP, yeah he disagrees. If you read enough of his posts you get the same vibe...all or nothing. There is no such thing as a little progress in his mind.

Poor guy.

How much of a dent though? We have no numbers to put the elimination of this lab in perspective (though I suspect eliminating one lab like that hurts the insurgents more than eliminating a big meth lab here in the U.S hurts drug dealers).

Hard to say. But like you said, this lab seemed pretty substantial...Im no demolitions expert but there seemed to be quite a large amount of explosived in there.

They might need quite a lot though. Who know about the purity or quality of what they've been able to make, so it may take many pounds per IED. And, unfortunatly, many of the chemicals for makeing explosives are increadibly common and cheap. Nitrogylcerin or nitrocelulose production would be very easy to set up.

As opposed to the most likely scenario which is..

Arab fighters coming in from Syria to Iraq with weapons that Iran made which Syria has stockpiles of.

Even though most of the foreigners coming to Iraq to fight U.S troops are from Syria/Saudi Arabia and less than 1% are from Iran (which by the way has a population and border many many times that of the Arabs).

If not that, then we should fear Iran for they have the best special forces in the world. They are able to go into Iraq and never get caught. They know how to bypass our security. Be afraid.. be very afraid.

U.S accuses Iran of being inside Iraq, yet none of them are ever caught.

They have an invisible shield.

We have evidence of Iranian made IEDs.

As I pointed out above

Syria has stockpiles of such weapons. Syria gives those weapons to Syrians and Hezbollah.

Most of the insurgents are coming to Iraq from Syria/Saudi Arabia. In fact almost all of them 99.9% of them are Arab.

yet we NEVER hear anything about Syria. Media likes to ignore it.

We're just playing 'pass the buck' and 'misdirection' for our gross misconduct on how Iraq was handled from the beginning.

If we had proof the Iranian government was supplying explosives to Iraqis, we would've taken action by now.

We only have proof that Iranians are responsible for supplying Iraqis. Well no sh1t; Iran has a huge Shiite majority that has strong ties to Iraqi Shiites. They are both united against the Kurds/Sunnis in Iraq, and against any American occupation. Since we allow Iraq's borders to leak like a sieve, we shouldn't be surprised.
