Video Not Playing

In all my *.avi video files, whenever I play them, I do not have any video, only audio playing. If I use WMP, Divx Player, or VLC, it doesnt matter, no video. I installed many codecs, reinstalled VLC, but to no avail. Videos played fine 2 weeks ago, but then I left for vacation, other people used the system (but I noticed nothing different), and now it just won't play videos. How can I fix this?
