I wouldn't do it. Kittens, on the other hand, I would pay to do it.

What a bullsh!t video.
No one would really answer that objectively in front of a camera.
Have $1000 out in front of them, without the camera, and I'd bet just about anyone would do it.
Good point.

Nothing.
But only if it would die without my intervention, and if my killing it was more humane. See starvation, disease, horribly mauled, etc.

I think it would really depend more on my context than on the amount of money involved. I'd feel bad killing the puppy just for cash; but there are some instances where money can actually buy things worth far more than the puppy.
If, for example, I just wanted to upgrade from a 30' tube to a 50' plasma, I wouldn't be able to do it and I'd feel like a real bastard if I did. Dogs, with some exceptions, are just really great animals. They are cute, exuberant, loyal, good company, and they just genuinely think that you are wonderful. Puppies are all that, plus their air of innocent eagerness. You'd have to be a cold motherfvcker to kill one of those for a new TV.
On the other hand, consider this case. Like a fair few of us here on the forums, I'm in the midcollege/early graduate stage of life. My parents have a fair few years left to them; but they aren't getting any younger and some very serious diseases are possible. Moreover, mine are getting divorced, so they will no longer both be covered by our health insurance. Imagine if my mom got cancer, say. I've not had luck pulling up precise numbers, but let's say that you could get a round of surgery and/or chemo for $25,000. I can't afford that. Would I kill a puppy for that kind of money? When that is what the money means, no question.
And for the slightly older set among us. One of the most common causes of marital breakup is financial stress. Imagine that it has been a bad year. Unexpected expenses, or cut to hours/wages, or whatever. Bills are starting to collect, you and your spouse are starting to get a little nervous. Nervous people are hard to live with. Things around the house are really starting to get unpleasant. Also, Christmas is coming. The kids will probably want something. Would you kill a puppy for enough money to pay off the bills, get the kids a little something, and take enough time off work to go take a little vacation, get away from things long enough to remember why you love each other, work things out? It sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
That's the thing with money. When you think of it as just stuff, trinkets, it would take a lot of it to match up to a puppy. It isn't just that, though. Fact is, money sometimes does buy life, buy happiness, buy love. Who wouldn't kill a puppy for that?
