After playing 10+hrs of wow (between myself and a friend using my account/pc), the screen blacks out. sounds is still working. I just figured a just letting the video card (MSI Geforce 6600GT 128mb) rest is all it needed after seeing strange line in the boot up. ( i have no ac and the weather was really bad)
I had tried bother pci-x slots and got nothing new. after reformating my hard drive, everything seemed to working except when i tried to installed the video drivers. It told me something about the drivers not working with XP.
so after getting my video card RMA'ed b/c what I thought was over heating issues from the weather, i got ZALMAN VF700-CU to prevent it happening in the future. After i got the card back, installed the Zalman fans (i also got the ZALMAN CNPS7700-CU) the entire screen now is stange random character. I tired resting my BIOs by taking out the battery (i have GIGABYTE GA-K8NXP-SLI so that only way i could) and nothing help. I'm really stuck here and don't know what to do.

Sounds like a video card problem; can you swap the 6600 with another and see if all the issues go away? Can you put the 6600's stock fan on there and see if you can reproduce the problem?

yea, i just tried it and i got the same result. I was able to get a PCI video card and wasn't able to get anything to display on the screen at all. This really seems to be point at the mobo but i'm really hoping it something i can fix without shipping it out.
