I'm trying this program, but it only shows one of my cards (I have a 7950GX2). In Windows it shows 495.26MB, and in Everquest II it goes down. Just now both went to .00MB. WTF?!

Try Oblivion with Qarl's Textures Pack III and go to Weynon Priory, then please report back the amount of Video Memory used, I'm pretty sure it could beat S.T.A.L.K.E.R by a large amount, even Quake IV.

Is there something particular about Weynon Priory? I am testing out my new 8800GTS with my QTP3 Oblivion install and for some reason, the game turns into a slideshow there but seems pretty fast almost everywhere else.

It's known to the modders (especially) that Weynon Priory and its immediate surrounding area results in the location that contains the highest amount of polygons in almost all directions in the game, as far as outdoor areas are concerned. I can't remember the other "testing" places for performance, but I know that Weynon Priory is either the first or second "most demanding" place in the game, and that goes for vanilla Oblivion as well, it's just that combined with an already very taxing mod like QTP 3 it makes that place hell for ANY graphics card on the market. I wouldn't even DARE trying that place combined with QTP 3 + that "viewable" distance mod that I can never remember its name, I'd be surprised that even an 8800GTX SLi set-up could run that smooth.

Thanks for the info, I think HDR+AA and QTP3 in that area are taking me over 640MB and causing thrashing. I was getting pretty down that my new card was apparently handling Oblivion worse than my old X1900XT in Vista.

I did video memory testing on Oblivion a while ago.
With all the texture mods(including 2048), and weather and oblivion tweaked up, I actually exceeded the 640MB of my 8800 GTS after playing for a little while. :)
That was at only 1280 resolution

Oblivion with all the cool visual mods and tweaked up can eat vid memory for breakfast, probably the highest vid mem of any game I have ever seen. And I thought my GTX 640MB was future proof, bah, I wanted a GTX at that very moment. I can't imagine what it would do at real high resolutions.

i guess ill have to go with nvidia for my next system. i play plenty of quake 4, and i need more than 512 mb, it seems, to play maxed out at 1680x1050. the 2900xt only has 512, and the xtx will most LIKELY be out of my price range.

i think ant recent card can handle anything quake 4 throws at it. i bet even a 256 mb 7900gt would be enough for quake 4 even at ultra high.
