i just read through this thread because i am seriously considering getting a second 6950 identical to the one i have to try crossfire for the first time. if i understand it correctly all i have to do is install the card, attach crossfire cable and turn computer on. then enable crossfire in CCC. is that all?

You need to download:
Catalyst Driver Application Profile updates (CAP's)

as I understand it, its like what you said, and downloading this from AMD from time to time, and installing it
(for new game profiles).

that and your done (as I understand it, if you already did what you mentioned above).
