Part III

The first part was televised last night and towards the end of the segment, Marc Thiessen complained to Jon Stewart that he wasn't able to get his points out so Jon offered to extend the interview and put it up on the web uncut unedited.

Excellent stuff.

Only watched what Aired. In that Part John doesn't Debate as much as he Berates the guy. The guy deserved it for being an idiot though.

That poor bastard got treated with total injustice. It's just a shame he didn't also get waterboarded on the air.

Marc looks like he needs to lay off the ribeye, drink some water and eat a fresh piece of fruit.

Totally. Equating the lawyers defending Gitmo detainees to mob lawyers defending the mob... idiotic!

An excellent interview for sure. It shows how the left is simply incapable of understanding the simple truths of war. Even with frequent interruptions, Thiessen was able to paint an accurate and detailed picture of what was necessary to maintain our supremacy. Unfortunately, Stewart was simply unable to comprehend anything Thiessen said, and resorted to cherry picking 'facts' to bash Thiessen's position. Basically he used his comedy to hide his ignorance and the audience (and many forum members, apparently) bought into it. It's sad when otherwise intelligent people are tricked and manipulated into believing complete and total garbage, disguised as 'intelligent comedy'. Everyone knows this.

You can't really believe that the CIA was anywhere near that mild do you? Especially with the recent news about doctors counseling interrogators to feed prisoners Enfamil to keep them from dying when the inhaled their vomit during waterboarding, or to use saline solution to keep them from dying of dehydration, and how to act quickly when they stopped breathing. The other treatments were also far more severe than you describe.

Maybe the military had their hands tied, but others didn't.

I agree with Stewart's main argument that, agree or not with policies, politics, or whatever, to suggest that Obama (or whoever really) is deliberately trying to make the U.S. less safe is disgraceful. I disagree with Obama on a number of things, and disagreed with W on many many things, but never for second would I think that either of them are trying to harm the United States.

Thiessen is a tool and got what he deserved by trying to debate Jon Stewart, and kudos to Stewart for making him look like a complete ass.

I don't know why smart people would go on that show. It's like casting pearls before swine so to speak.
