Is there a threshold or criteria of what you consider a thief?

Do you only hate thieves if they steal something above a certain $ amount? Does it matter what they steal? Have you stolen anything before? Downloaded an MP3 or movie? Do you hate yourself?

that's not stealing, it's copyright infringement.

Bike owner was quite the drama queen. Wouldn't be surprised to find out that he was gay. Also, getting arrested is not the same as getting convicted. Just because the alleged thief was arrested by the Cops, it doesn't mean he was actually charged with the crime in the courts. He may of gotten off as quite often possession of stolen property charges do not stick very easily.

He hasn't been charged and doesn't have an arraignment date, I'd think it would be up by now

Not that the Daily Mail story means it is true, but who knows. I do personally know a person that had their bike stolen here in Iowa City, but posted enough details about the bike on Facebook that it was recovered 3 days later by a friend (Helps that she knows a large number of bicyclists). And get this... the thief had locked it in front of the police station where it was recognized by her friend.
