Video Game Issues

I am running Windows XP 64-bit final build (trial). Everytime I open a game, say BF2, it quickly minimizes. I click the program in the start bar, it opens back up, then either:
1) Quickly minimizes again
2) Minimizes once I click a button, say Login or Multiplayer.
I've tried re-installing my video drivers (77.72 on a Gigabyte 6600 PCI-e) twice, with no result.
Can you guys help me out? I'm stuck.

You should try the WinXP 32-bit edition...64-bit will really screw up your gaming...also you should use clockgen and oc your cpu alittle to 2Ghz...finally onboard sound is decent...but I recommend you get a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! its 7.1 and 24bit and supports EAX it does easy out your cpu alittle and provides much better sounds

I'll be getting 32-bit in early Sept. (i'm on vacation for 3 weeks tomorrow). It'd be nice to know whats up here though, since it happened out of nowhere.
