Video game illiteracy

The other day I was playing World of Warcraft and my girlfriend (who never plays video games) wanted me to come talk to her. I told her it would have to wait another 15 minutes, to which she responds

"Can't you just press pause?"

A few weeks ago my aunt came over to visit and I was playing some RPG for the PS2 and she asks

"Are you winning?"

I just thought these were funny. Do you guys ever encounter illiteracy like this as well?
 
When I was in college, I didn't play video games because I was too busy working and trying not to get on academic probation.

I'd suggest you do the same. Oh... too late.

not everyone knows everything about games. you would think there is a way to pause the game.

also when a GF says she wants to talk turn off the game unless you want to be single. but at least then you would have more time to play heh
