I read his whine fest as well...the fact is there are many encoding programs out there that do DV-MPEG2 even AVI (Xvid/ Divx, etc) to mpeg2...Actually TMPGenc is more popular for converting xvid and divx to MPEG2 and in those cases I would believe AMD would be stronger being that they are doing the flip...

Everyone will agree the benchmark (one link you have) is right...However saying you can gt a 570 for 350 dollars is enough for me to ban you...For you to be so stupid that you link an auction site for relevance of rpice is insane....Same ebay site you linked I fouind others for much higher and no other 350 dollar chip yet....ONe around 200ish but it havdn't met its reserve yet...

That is the FUD ppl are talking about....

<<I wanted to keep the price under $600 because that is how much extra I would have to pay to go for an Athlon64 X2 (which I wanted so that I could do some quick divx/xvid encoding) in my new rig. Someone else suggested that I buy a 3200+ instead of the X2 4400+ and build a separate encoding rig.

So any comments/suggestions? >>

Qouted from the OPs main thread that has been there since the beginning...

Another reason you should take a vacation...YOu cant ever seem to read a thread correctly....Why mention something (DV to MPEG2) that he doesn't even say he wants the cpu for....XVID and DIVX endoing favor the X2....

However I like a few mentioned we thought the 2.4c with hyperthreading was a better option and for 140 bucks for the pcu it fit his price...You come up with some lame-arse comment, divert the thread, and not even hold to his instructions....

Never qoute ebay prices again, you fool!!!

Send us a picture of it, and not mine !!!! And in your picture don;t open the box like I did, so we can see the bar code on the package....

and you dont have ANY HSF's there for a socket 754 or 939 ? Send me your address and $10, and I will send you a retail Opteron HSF that should be just fine !!!

Sounds like you want to have this machine built to suit your interests, not those of the OP. :disgust:
