I'am set on the I7-860 for my processor to use for light to moderate video editing.I just want to copy my tapes from my Sony TRV320 digital camcorder tapes to dvd with maybe some cutting, clipping and pasting scenes together and maybe add some titles.I want to use the firewire capable function on the camcorder to transfer.Would it be best to get a motherboard with firewire built in or get a seperate video card with firewire. Also if I add a video card with firewire, what would be a good card to get.

You can get a motherboard with firewire or a card either is fine. Make sure it uses the TI chipset for firewire. That is the one that is compatible with just about everything.

Video card - any current gaming card $100 - $200 range is fine .
