I use Pinnacle plus now, but I was thinking about trying out Vegas Movie Studio+DVD. Is it better? It seems like most of the effects in pinnacle that I want to use, I have to pay extra for.
 
Vegas is much for versatile than Studio and many of the tools are superior. Liquid Edition is on par with it, but LE 6 does need a service pack (March). Each has their own strengths. I think there is an upgrade offer for Studio users to LE 6. DVD A in the Sony package may be better than the built in DVD components for LE (Studio's are a little better too than LE's, but both will make a DVD in the timeline.) Personally, I export M2V and AC3 from LE and use Mediachance's DVD-Lab.
