Video Editing: Which software is good??

I would like to start editing video on my computer. I was wondering if any of you guys know anythiing about video editing software. If you could just help me out a little that would be great

I really like VirtualDub, but it's only good but for so many things (and took me a while before I could really use it well). It's free though . . .
 
yea.. for the free one, i use virtualdub.
if u wanna try commercial software, get adobe premiere 🙂
well... if you just wanna edit/encode simple MPEG or AVI files go to www.vcdhelp.com
