Video Editing Question

I've got a buddy who doesnt know a hell of a lot about computer parts. He just recently bought the bits to put together a new computer. He wanted it for video editing, as thats mostly what he will use it for. He said he asked around, and from what he heard, people told him to get certain parts. When he told me what he had purchased, I thought he had made a mistake, and got the wrong stuff really. Although I havent seen what he ordered, as he hasnt picked it up yet, but this is pretty much the stuff he got.

AMD Operton 64bit 1.4ghz chip.
Nvidia Quadro FX500 Video card.

The rest of the stuff i'm not fully sure what he got, but it should be ok.

Are these the right parts for him? I've never seen anything saying an Operton chip was good for video editing, especially at 300 bucks Canadian for it. The video card seems ok, but i really cant tell, as i dont know much about the Quadro line of cards. He doesnt want this computer for graphic rendering or even games at all. Just pretty much for video editing, and the usual internet/email stuff.

Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

EDIT. After looking around a bit more, it does seem that these are used for video editing too, but is this the best stuff he could have gotten for his money?
