video editing...is it better served using an lcd or crt...


have a dell 2005 and have been told that lcd's do poorly in that regards...
my first thoughts are to disagree with the person but wanta check here and get your thoughts before I spend some $
 
It really doesn't matter. Neither is going to display like a CRT TV does, so it basically boils down to preference. I have two 17" CRT's right now that I want to replace w/one big LCD. But I also have a TV hooked up to my computer so I can see what my video is really going to look like.

Mostly answered already. If you are really serious about it, then you have facilities with your editor to preview to a NTSC or PAL monitor. Some of the hardware options for some editors offer that choice. You can get either. I use a CRT as that is what I bought 7 years ago (Iiyama VisionMaster 450 keeps going and going... 😉 )
