I bought a used PC from this guy. When I set it up just now (rather, just turned it on) the screen gets distorted when the PC is working. When it idles, the distortion goes away.

everything on the screen starts to shake just a little bit as if there is some kind of interference.

It uses Intel extremecrap graphics.

TIA!

ps. When the PC just turns on it's fine, as soon as windows loads it starts.

Try changing the resolution and refresh rate to different settings, including 640x480 if possible then report back.

YOUR A GENIUS!

I changed the refresh from 75hz to 60hz and it's fine now.

I use an LCD, so do refresh rates even apply?

it's still there, but very very vague to the point where I don't really notice. Now it's just little white waves but at least the text isn't all distorted anymore. Very cool :)

Thanks again!

any idea what the problem was? Is my integrated card going to die? Should I replace it a new PCI card? If the card dies, will my mobo go as well?

I don't really want to upgrade this PC. It's simply for the net.
