As a korean kid, I didn't really think this was that bad. All Asians do this kind of stuff.

When I was younger, I got mop handles broken across my butt when I was bad.

When I watched it I figured "must be some 3rd world country or something" then saw the posts here saying China. Not surprised. In China it's survival of the fittest, even if you're a 3 year old. Reminds me of that video where a kid is repeatedly run over and nobody does anything.
 
Its pretty obvious the kid stole money from moms purse and spent it on hookers and blow, he didn't invite dad, so dad taught him a lesson for walking down the stairs too slowly.
 
I'm just speculating but the kid is walking very slowly and falling behind while the two parents are waiting for him to catch up. My guess is the parents are in a hurry and the kid is holding them up infuriating the dad. Totally justified as you can tell from the mom's and onlookers reaction.

In all seriousness I think the kid may be suffering from low blood sugar. Probably hasn't eaten much, or if he did it might be high sugar content snack to keep him happy which spiked his glucose then caused it to crash. He looks half asleep moping down those stairs. Or maybe he's just depressed. I can't imagine why with such great parenting.

I hope the kid grows up to be very successful despite his shitty upbringing and puts dad in a centrifuge as pay back. Through the microphone he can keep asking dad if he's moving fast enough yet. Not enough to kill him, and not enough to knock him out. After dad vomits a few times that should be enough. Unless dad forgets to apologize in between vomits. Then it's time for another go in the douchebag merry go round for dad of the year over there.

My parents whooped my ass when I misbehaved too. The kid will learn to behave properly grow into a better person. You didn't see both sides to this story.

I know it's easy to say it now since I'm not there, but if I saw that IRL I absolutely would have either called police OR put him in a choke and then called the police.
