video corruption in bios

i set up my 7900 GTX on a MSI K8N Diamond Plus and i get frequent video corruption when i enter the bios. But this card worked fine on my other mobo. I also tried my 7800 GTX in the MSi Diamond plus but did not get any video corruption in bios.

How do i tell which componant is bad? Im not sure if i should return the mobo or the vid card

well on my other mobo it played bf2 and cs:s with not artifacts but in oblivion it got screen coruption, but im not sure if that was due to the card or drivers considering that oblivion does not officially support the 7900 and i was also using 84.21 drivers.

Maybe l will plug in the 7900 gtx back in just to make sure.

No but there are only 2 versions of the bios and one is still beta. I just plugged back the 7900 gtx back in and ran some games like bf2 and oblivion. I did not see any artfacting. Also ran ATI tool artifact test and that rdhbl test and saw none.

Wonder what is wrong then? It really bothers me. I have never had a problem with getting video corruption while entering the bios before until now

Have you tried dumping the ATI TOOL and replacing it with RIVA TUNER?

While XFX cards are pretty stable out of the box, they are not the
best candidates for OC'n.
