It's a Twin Turbo inline 6, you might not like it, but you can't snivel at that I've heard rumors that the R35 GTR will have a V8 (someone said a Turbo V8 :Q)

Show me an fbody that can quarter in <9.105. The fastest Camaro I have read about online did it in something like 9.89 which is a long shot from 9.1. I don't know about Vettes though.

If it hasn't been done - it sure as hell could be done. I think the GTR has the advantage in it's config though, if you reinforce that inline 6 enough to handle way higher revs, but there's plenty of things you can do with a V8 as well to get it down into the low 9's. Hell, I know of 4 bangers that hit low 8's. Don't doubt that any engine can hit any level of performance
