Such a stupid hate bandwagon by people who can't even think for themselves. Its obviously just makes people feel good about themselves (case in point: guy in video)
 
I watched 17", and bailed. That guy's a pretentious douchebag, and you can tell from that short bit nothing of import will come from his mouth. I won't watch the rest, but I can assume it's the kind of impotent protest you'd expect from a 15 year old?

The guy is a clueless and pretentious douchebag, a total and complete, world class asshole. His trying to get large on that young women was as pathetic as it was offensive.

But, while his getting fired was truly poetic justice, it wasn't just or proportionate to what he did. He lost his job over some not illegal thing he did on his own time and which in no way was connected to his work. Sorry, as unlikable as he is, that's bullshit.

If being a douche on your own time became grounds for losing your job, there are any number of posters right here who would suddenly become unemployed.

he made the company he worked for look insane. he was insane. he went after a cashier. as if she has any fricken say in what the company does.

Its not that he was a douche. he made the company he works for look like a douche. Now vende is dragged into this and having to take a political stance on the situation. IF they wouldn't have handled it as well as they did they could face boycott.

I think the main problem was that his buttholeness via video was public and posted online. If he did that without the video, he is still employed.

Posting on the forums like this one provides the annonymous = more likely douchiness.

He didn't make the company look like a douche, he made himself, on his own time, look like a douche. He did nothing illegal or even immoral, just world class douchey, and he wasn't fired for any decent job related reason, he was fired for craven PR purposes.

By your reasoning, if Truett Cathy had been an employee and not the owner of CFA, and you had the power, you would have fired him because his actions exposed CFA to a boycott.

Well, yeah, the dickbag really did craft a hermetically sealed, world class shit bag of stupid, ugly fail. He's a dick, and worse, a smug and clueless one.

So, again, I agree he deserved his fate in the karmic, poetic sense.

And yet, I remain stubbornly unconvinced that firing someone for acting like a douche on their own time, without coming close to breaking any known laws, who instead was merely ignorantly (if stupendously) rude and impolite, is not the absolute best way to go.

Where's the freedom brigade here, those who would staunchly maintain that your employer has no right whatsoever to regulate what you do on your own tme as long as you don't break any laws?
 
Does he work in an at will state? If so it's meaningless to discuss further anyways.
