video cards with no fan?

Are there any video cards out there that have no fan (IE: passivly cooled) that are still respectivly fast? I know the Voodoo 3's were like this, along with some of the older nvidia chips, but are there any getforce2/geforce3 cards that don't have fans?

The reason I ask is because hands down, the loudest fan in my system is my Leadtek Geforce2 GTS. Being a "quiet" freak, I can't stand the slightest bit of noise, so I was wondering if anyone knew of cards that don't have fans.

Alternatly - is it possible to remove the fan safely on a geforce3? Any idea on whether or not that would be possible on the Geforece4 (I know - just spectulation, but I'm curious anyways)?

some of the GeForce2 MX400 cards don't have fans...check out www.newegg.com, they have pictures of each of their cards, so you can see which have fans and which don't.

I'm guessing a GeForce 3 wouldn't like having its heatsink removed.

I wouldn't remove the HS - just the fan.

Does anyone know if removing the fan (not the heat sink) of a geforce3 is possible?

I'm not 100% sure about GeForce3, but removing the fan on GeForce3 Ti200 is fine, because my friend did it.

He is like crazy about noise, so he replaced everything on his computer to like the quitest stuff so you can't hear any noise on his computer which is awesome. It's much quiter than my bro's Pentium 1.4GHz (and much faster of course ;-) If the window is opened, you can't hear any noise.

He has:
AMD Athlon XP 1800+
Epox 8HKA+ (he took out that small fan on the motherboard also)
Seagate 20GB ATA100/7200RPM (Seagate is dead quite. The quitest HD in the market)
Seagate 40GB ATA100/7200RPM
Gainward GeForce3 Ti200 64MB
Crucial 256MB PC2100 DDR RAM

But you never know what could go wrong, He only took out those fans, because he doesn't overclock or anything. So... something might go wrong when you take out all the fans.

What was your friend using for a Heat sink/fan on that Athlon XP cpu?

And does he monitor the temps on the video card at all? I know you can unplug the fan on the motherboard if needs be, since it's mostly cosmetic for everyone but the diehard overclockers (which I am not one - there's simply no need), but I'm still a bit fickle about unplugging the video card fan and/or removing it all together.
