I recently sold my AGP bfg 6800u (bout 2 weeks ago) because I wanted my next system to be PCI-E. I have been getting all the pieces together (have everything cept MB CPU and video card, and will probably make the big CPU + MB purchase around Thanksgiving.

My question is this, right now I could get the BFG 7800gt for $375. You guys who have been around this stuff and are familiar with prices and trends, am I better off to wait or jump on this now. I know the general rule of thumb is as time goes by, prices usually drop but this is a pretty good deal of a 7800gt right now. Besides, its less than 60 days till turkey day. When ATI rolls out their new product will this have an effect on the pricing of the Nvidia cards? If ATI falls short in matching the performance of the 7800 series the value of the Nvidia product could go up.

Its all speculation at this point...

thanks

BTW, eVGA's warranty is now better than BFG

And the combined mobo is decent, you could at least sell it and get some moolah for your DFI

Hey thanks for the heads up on the eVGA card. Will check into their warranty also and maybe try to find our more about their cards. Surely it will stack up to what the BFG card will do. Will also look into the MB combo deal...

thanks!!!
