Video card won't POST in my system?

I just got a shiny new ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512MB AGP to extend the life of my DFI Lanparty NF3 250Gb board. I popped the card in, hooked up power, and hooked up both monitors and it didn't work. Hard drives spun up like normal, but no beep codes or POST beep coming out of the motherboard. Fan spins up OK on the video card.

I attributed it to a bad card until I popped it into another older system this morning-- an Albatron KX18D or something, I believe it's a VIA KT600 board. Worked perfectly.

Here are the things I have tried so far:
- was already on latest BIOS, tried a beta BIOS, that didn't work either (but gave me some cool new options :))
- disconnected power from a few other things, thought maybe it awsn't getting enough power
- put it on its own power cable
- unplugged the other PCI cards
- tried 1 stick of memory
- cleared CMOS

I'm pretty much out of ideas...so if you guys have any...give them to me before I return this card. Thanks :)

Antec TrueControl 550w. I have quite a bit of stuff hooked into it, but I unplugged some of it to compensate for any additional power this card might be taking up.

It also posted fine in the Albatron rig which uses an el-cheapo 300w PSU (can't speak for long-term stability, just tested POST)

Have you checked to see if you have any AGP slot settings in the BIOS that might not be compatible with your new card?

I know on some older systems I had trouble running AGP8X - would only work in 4X.

What settings should I look for? I would not mind running this card at 4x, not like 8x even does anything anyway.

I have a 9800 Pro 256MB now, and I'm pretty sure all of those were AGP 8x... however, the slot for the 9800 Pro has two notches (so it's split up into three sections) whereas my new X1650 Pro only has one notch (it's split up into two sections). What exactly does this mean and could it have something to do with my issue? Thanks.

This may explain your slots being different. Mabe your card is .8 volts only?

Copied from another forum

Some 3.0 slots will support the 1.5V and 0.8V, But apparently this one doesn't.

1/2x (AGP 1.0) was usyaly 3.3V, 4x (AGP 2.0) was for 1.5V -- 8x I always thought was 0.8V, but your manual says 4x and 8x at 1.5V. maybe your board doesn't really do 8x ???
