Video Card won't boot with my p3 733

Hi everyone!

I'm having a big problem with one of my rigs.

I have an ATI AIW 8500 and a p3 733 with an ASUS CUV4X mobo.

If I use any other AGP video card (old Xperts, Rages or anything else) the computer boots up no problem. But when I plug the AIW in all I get if a series of beeps at startup and no display on screen. The mobo is AGP 4x so i dont think that thats' the problem and I've tested both the card and the mobo with other stuff and they are all working fine.

Could anyone offer some insight? It would be greatly appreciated! thanks everyone!!!!!!

What size power supply do you have?

That ATI Card is a Power hungry Beast.

The PSU is 250 watts..

Do you think I need at least a 300 watt???

It will definitely help.

Can't say for sure that it will correct the problem, but I can almost guarentee
it will be an issue further down the line.

If you replace the PSU, look for one with

350w minimum
20A for the +3.3V power.
30A for the +5V power.
165W TCO (Total Combined Output) for the +5V/+3.3V power.
