To make things a bit easier for our members, I think a simple post of some warranty information would be a great convenience.

If I miss something or a change needs to be made , just give me a holla. :)
I'm just gonna paste the basics with a link attached.

An EVGA product contains a suffix used to identify the warranty. As an example: 130-SB-E675-KR shows -KR for the suffix. This example can be used for all EVGA part numbers when referencing the suffix.

All -KR products purchased ON or AFTER January 1st, 2011 include a 3 year limited warranty from the date of purchase. Registration is recommended. Optional Extended Warranty and Step-Up™ eligibility are offered for purchase upon product registration of a -KR part number within 30 days of the purchase date.
This includes the following suffixes: -K1, -K2, -KR

Limited Lifetime: -A1, -A2, -A3, -A4, -AR, -AX, -CR, -CX, -DX, -FR, -FX, -SG, -SX

When did VisionTek add the registration within 30 days requirement for their lifetime warranty? AFAIK, that wasn't true when I bought my HD4850 cards retail from BestBuy. At least I never noticed anything on the box or on a slip of paper included with the cards that I needed to register. I hope my lifetime warranty is still good, I still have my retail receipts.

Also, I dont think those warranty policies are not necessarily true for every model of video card those companies "make". Not every PNY card can get a lifetime warranty by registering, there are many with 1-2 years on them. Same with xfx I think.

And the best one on the list EVGA only offers lifetime warranties on few select models these days. <insert sad face here>

After some futher reading, you are correct ,normal PNY cards have a 5 year warranty and the XLR8 has the life time.

Yeah, that is why I much prefer XFX now, after being a huge eVGA fan for many years.

I count 13 lifetime and 16 non lifetime, I would not call that "hardly" any models.

For me personally, I dont think anything over 2/3 years will ever be used anyway. :)
I see no reason to keep a gpu that long, unless your not gaming.

Why not? A 8800gt still plays all new games, albeit at lower resolutions or quality levels. Its still a great card years later, and why shouldn't it be covered?

I think you missed "for me personally" part?
I had a 8800gt about 4 cards ago and I bought it for 70$.

I guess if I bought a super high end card like a gtx580, I might want more than a 2 year warranty, but if I had that kind of money I would just buy the EVGA model that cost 20$ more for the warranty.
ANd if a gtx580 last me more than 3 years, something is wrong with computer gaming cause games like Crysis and Metro comes just about every year..

Perfect example, my card now might last a year before I sell it.

There may be some fine print in some of these warranty statements. For instance a lot of the longer warranties are for original purchaser only, meaning anything purchased second hand is no longer under warranty. Also, in the past some of the "lifetime" warranties was for the "life of the product" meaning if the product was considered obsolete (sometimes just no longer being sold) then warranty ended.

Just to note that for Sapphire warranty replacement in the US you have to send an e-mail to rma@althonmicro.com (they are the distributor in the US referenced in the warranty). They charge a "processing" fee of $15 on top of paying for shipping to them. I'm just starting the process today but I have read that it can take 3-4 weeks to get a replacement and there is no "cross-ship" option.

To be fair, not too many experienced people buy saphire cards due to how retarded they are when it comes to RMA's and fees. I know someone who had to RMA a motherboard and they had to send it to Hong Kong and he had to pay around $120 or something like that as well as waiting over a month for it. If you buy saphire, please enjoy the RMA experience. :) Youve been warned.
